bathing ladies. One downside that I believe is worth sharing is dry skin. Yes, that wonderful feeling of ‘ahhhhh’ can dry out your skin. We are told that a bath can be relaxing, well yes it can; it can be healing, it can relieve stress and it can sometimes even help improve issues with the skin. The problem is the number of baths we take, the amount of time we spend in the bath, and what we add to the water when taking a bath….but most importantly, it is what we do when we GET OUT of the tub.
Ladies, please by no means should you stop taking baths or even decrease the number of bahts you take. This is not my message. What I am saying to you, now listen closely….what I am saying is to pay close attention to your skin once you have removed yourself from the tub!!!
It is recommended that within 3 minutes after getting out of the tub, it is IMPORTANT to MOISTURIZE your skin!!! Another important thing to mention, it is best to moisturize your skin while IT IS STILL DAMP. A final suggestion, especially if you are in a situation where you are drying off without a moisturizer, dab your skin dry, do not scrub it dry.
Now, why is all of this important??? When we bathe, the water tends to take away the body’s natural oils; we need some oil to keep moisturized or as you know, our skin will dry, crack and peel. And…when we scrub our bodies with a towel for the sake of drying the water off, we are pulling all of the moisture off of our bodies adding to the problem that we are always struggling so hard to prevent. No dry skin, please!
Ladies….keep your bath water warm, not too hot; use mild products and make sure they are full of moisturizing agents; and dab dry, don’t scrub. Follow these simple instructions and your natural beauty will be protected for all time!
Enjoy being beautiful, naturally!
